Role Overview
The Regional Sales Manager for Florida is tasked with accelerating revenue, broadening the company’s presence in the market, and deepening customer partnerships throughout the state. In this position, you will act as the lead sales representative for the region and will be responsible for promoting the complete range of MoboTrex products and services within the traffic and ITS sector.
This role works in close coordination with inside sales, field technicians, marketing, and vendor partners to support regional targets, address customer needs, and position MoboTrex as a trusted industry leader. It suits a proactive sales professional who thrives on relationship building, has strong technical understanding, and can manage both immediate opportunities and long-term strategic accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet annual revenue goals and performance benchmarks set in the company business plan.
- Generate growth by pursuing new business opportunities and expanding existing customer relationships.
- Present, demonstrate, promote, and close sales for the full portfolio of products and services.
- Oversee sales activity across the region in a cost-conscious way that stays within the approved operating budget.
- Conduct frequent customer visits and build relationships in the field throughout the assigned territory.
- Support project management for regional opportunities valued above $50K in revenue.
- Develop and preserve strong ties with decision-makers, engineers, agencies, and other industry stakeholders.
- Maintain continuity in customer relationships across multiple contacts, even when staffing changes occur.
- Deliver prompt support, issue resolution, and follow-up to customers.
- Advance the specification and sale of core traffic signal solutions while growing peripheral product lines.
- Work with inside sales, field teams, and vendor partners to execute regional strategies and training initiatives.
- Track competitor activity, market developments, legislative changes, and broader industry shifts, and share updates with leadership.
- Contribute ideas for marketing efforts, campaigns, and product positioning.
- Take part in annual sales planning, forecasting, and budget preparation.
- Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry association events.
- Keep CRM records current, including sales activities, pipeline status, and reporting for sales leadership.
- Submit expense reports accurately and on time in line with company policy.
- Comply with company policies, ethical standards, and safety requirements.
- Carry out additional duties assigned by the VP of Sales.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated sales experience is required; background in transportation, ITS, or traffic management is strongly preferred.
- Experience in technical sales or field-based engineering/signal-related work is an advantage.
- Ability to earn IMSA Traffic Signals Level I and Level II certifications, with company support provided.
- Strong consultative selling ability, including presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Self-driven mindset with a strong focus on results and ongoing improvement.
- Comfortable using CRM systems to monitor, update, and communicate sales progress.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and consistent follow-through.
- Capable of working independently in a remote setting while traveling regularly.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Regularly involves sitting, speaking, listening, standing, and walking.
- Requires use of hands for typing, handling devices, and product demonstrations.
- May involve lifting objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Needs clear vision at both close and long distances, with the ability to adjust focus as needed.
- This is a field-oriented role with travel of up to 30% within the Southeast region and any neighboring states assigned.
