A prominent U.S. contractor is hiring a Regional Safety Manager for the Chicago area to oversee safety support across the Midwest. The position is central to improving safety outcomes, working alongside field leaders, and making sure company EHS standards are applied consistently across several construction and infrastructure projects.

Key duties
- Lead regional health and safety programs and provide oversight
- Help project teams meet internal policies and regulatory obligations
- Carry out site inspections, audits, and risk reviews across multiple locations
- Investigate incidents, determine underlying causes, and implement corrective measures
- Build effective working relationships with field staff and operational managers
- Track safety KPIs and identify areas for improvement
- Provide training, mentoring, and practical guidance to employees at all levels
- Promote and strengthen a proactive safety-first culture across the business
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will bring proven EHS leadership experience in construction settings, along with the ability to influence different stakeholder groups and communicate clearly.
Additional details
This position is based in Chicago, Illinois and involves travel across the Midwest, estimated at about 40%.
Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field, as well as certifications such as ASP, CSP, or equivalent professional credentials.
Relevant experience in excavation, utility, civil, or infrastructure projects is especially valuable.
