The Opportunity

This opening is for a Regional Manager who will oversee a portfolio of Active Adult 55+ communities across Austin, San Antonio, and Houston, Texas. The position reports to the VP of Operations and offers the chance to support the company’s mission while guiding a high-performing team.

Note: Although the role is listed in multiple locations, only one person will be hired.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct the regional market by setting strategy and putting programs into action to meet budgeted financial targets, operating goals, resident satisfaction and retention goals, employee engagement measures, and occupancy objectives.
  • Recruit, onboard, train, develop, encourage, and lead Sales Specialists and Community Managers.
  • Create annual goals and a business plan aligned to company strategy, and prepare budgets for the assigned portfolio.
  • Track sales performance, including CRM adoption, closing ratios, and progress toward sales targets and KPIs, while working with Asset Management on pricing and with Marketing on lead generation.
  • Set strong standards for day-to-day operations such as resident engagement, reporting, rent collection, renewals, property upkeep, resident issue handling, and activity programming.
  • Oversee SOX compliance and ensure adherence to company policies, Fair Housing rules, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and other laws and regulations tied to multifamily housing operations.
  • Support owner satisfaction by sharing reports and portfolio updates, answering questions and concerns promptly, and using ownership feedback to improve service.
  • Monitor market and economic conditions in the assigned areas, communicate trends and risks, and develop long- and short-term business plans that support growth and market presence.
  • Protect resident satisfaction and retention by addressing complaints, requests, and questions quickly and taking the right steps to resolve issues.
  • Visit every community at least once each month and provide ongoing feedback to the team.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma plus at least 7 years of professional management experience, ideally in multifamily housing, Active Adult communities, or hospitality.
  • Ability to travel as much as 80% of the time.
  • Prior lease-up property experience is preferred.
  • Experience using property management systems such as Yardi or RentCafe is preferred.
  • Background in maintaining financial records, managing budgets, and preparing financial reporting.
  • Strong sales understanding, including familiarity with sales processes and CRM tools.
  • Strategic thinker who can turn future possibilities into practical business strategies.
  • Servant leadership style.
  • Demonstrated ability to hire, develop, motivate, and inspire a team.
  • Excellent relationship-building ability.

  • Must be physically able to access all exterior and interior areas of the property and amenities, and to push, pull, lift, carry, or move up to 20 pounds independently and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
