Role Overview
We seek a Regional Lead based in Malawi, reporting to the Country Launcher, to manage the agent network acquisition and drive user growth in your designated region. You will lead and coordinate Field Officers and liaise with agent administration teams to meet growth targets, ensuring agent compliance, activation, and optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the identification and recruitment of new agents in line with agent selection criteria.
- Ensure that all agents have valid contracts, thorough training, and certification including KYC and AML/CTF compliance.
- Manage ongoing agent liquidity monitoring in coordination with Liquidity and Agent Quality teams.
- Monitor agent performance, manage risk, and address emerging issues with field teams.
- Coordinate the closure of agents who do not meet requirements, including recovery of assets and debranding.
- Lead a team that manages promoters tasked with acquiring new users of Wave’s financial products.
- Develop strategies to overcome obstacles to user growth and improve retention of new users.
- Recruit, train, and supervise distribution team members, using data analysis to refine strategies.
- Serve as the primary operational contact for agency networks and users within your region, ensuring excellence in service delivery and policy compliance.
Requirements
- Proficiency in English and a local language spoken in Malawi.
- Bachelor’s degree related to the role.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience managing agent networks or user acquisition in Malawi, including at least 2 years overseeing field teams.
- Experience managing agent activities in rural or upcountry areas within Malawi.
- Previous experience with product launches is a plus.

- This position is field-based within Malawi and requires legal authorization to work in the country.
