Job description

About the company

G’day Group is a major Australian tourism business made up of Discovery Parks, G’day Parks and the G’day Rewards loyalty program. The group employs more than 2,200 people across Australia and operates a nationwide network of more than 300 holiday parks, including 85 parks and resorts that are fully owned and managed. As the country’s largest park network, the business focuses on delivering genuine Australian holiday experiences and encouraging more Australians to explore the country.

The organisation is in a period of growth and change, with a focus on reshaping the industry through stronger customer experiences and improved technology. Each year, it welcomes millions of guests and manages some of Australia’s most valued destinations. With growing interest in domestic and regional tourism, the business is building a capable, flexible and high-performing team to help create memorable holidays.

About the role

This leadership position is suited to an experienced and commercially focused professional who can guide a diverse regional portfolio of parks. The Regional General Manager will be responsible for driving operational performance, supporting long-term asset value and contributing to strategic growth across the region.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, this role holds accountability for portfolio performance, operational effectiveness and value uplift across the region. It requires close collaboration with senior teams across Operations, Finance, People & Culture, Marketing, Revenue, Investments and Development to strengthen performance, customer experience and investment outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement regional strategy and deliver strong results across financial, operational and guest experience measures.
  • Spot and pursue growth opportunities through market knowledge, commercial initiatives, partnerships and development pathways.
  • Improve regional value by lifting operational efficiency, growing revenue and enhancing asset performance.
  • Contribute to decisions on capital priorities, master planning, acquisitions and development opportunities.
  • Develop capable leadership teams through coaching, accountability and ongoing capability building.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to improve commercial outcomes and operating effectiveness.
  • Ensure parks consistently meet high standards for guest experience, brand presentation and asset condition.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with councils, tourism organisations, community groups and other regional stakeholders.

About you

You should bring a strong background in leading multi-site or regional operations within tourism, hospitality, accommodation, retail or another customer-centric sector. The role calls for someone who can turn strategy into practical outcomes, improve financial results and guide teams through change.

Success in this role will come from regional or multi-site P&L ownership, proven ability to lift revenue and operational performance, strong team leadership and excellent stakeholder influence. A collaborative approach, commercial judgement and a commitment to continuous improvement are also important.

Benefits

  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, employee assistance support, discounted private health cover, BeWell training, weekly yoga and walking group, and free annual flu vaccinations.
  • Paid leave options including parental leave, volunteer leave and study leave.
  • Professional development support such as leadership programs, external training assistance and reimbursement of professional association memberships.
  • Employee savings including discounted accommodation and experience rates, salary packaging, partner discounts, free G’day Rewards membership and loyalty recognition benefits.

ESG and workplace values

The group recognises the growing expectation for organisations to address environmental, social and governance risks, along with sustainability in day-to-day operations and decision-making. Its five-year ESG strategy continues to focus on building a safe, respectful and inclusive workplace, supporting local communities and protecting the environment.

Conditions of employment

Before any job offer is made, candidates must authorise a Federal Police Clearance that can reveal any criminal offences or charges. A valid driver’s licence is essential for this position.
