Role overview
This position is responsible for shaping and executing the commercial and distribution approach for business and leisure sales channels across the region. The scope covers, among others, Corporate, Beyond Business, TMC, Meetings, Incentive, Conference and Exhibitions (MICE), OTA/Retail, Tour, Consolidator/VFR, and Student segments. The role also works closely with headquarters and the regional sales organization to define incentive and product guidance, ensure consistent rollout, and support commercial objectives such as point-to-point and stopover MICE growth into Qatar/Doha.
Operational responsibilities
- Partner with global business and leisure channel teams and internal stakeholders to bring regional market insight into the global distribution strategy, ensuring the worldwide plan works effectively for the region as well.
- Create and execute the regional channel plan to strengthen commercial performance and deliver assigned regional targets.
- Coordinate with QNTC, Discover Qatar, and the regional sales team to build and deliver an integrated plan that expands the MICE offering and increases Doha point-to-point and stopover sales.
- Work alongside internal teams to develop digital direct products that help the airline compete effectively with its distribution partners.
- Support regional sales leadership in establishing the right structure, tools, and processes to improve channel performance, lower cost of sale, and reduce conflict with digital direct sales.
- Track the competitive landscape and broader economic conditions, then adjust plans and tactics when needed.
- Continuously improve the return from channel agreements and collaborate with internal stakeholders to create suitable products.
- Work with regional sales leadership and CBI to define cost-of-sale guidelines with the goal of improving return on investment.
- Own regional business and leisure channel targets and work with analysts to assess performance and optimize contracts.
- Monitor revenue and performance impacts using data, then report findings and act where possible to protect revenue and maximize opportunities.
- Serve as the link between the region and global sales teams to ensure a coordinated channel approach.
- Compare market practices to keep sales methods aligned with current industry standards.
- Carry out additional department-related duties assigned by the Head of Department.
Candidate profile
The role requires a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification, along with at least 6 years of relevant work experience. The ideal candidate brings strategy-building experience, sales experience, and a forward-looking mindset that anticipates upcoming needs and plans accordingly. Strong analytical ability is essential, including the capacity to turn data into practical insights and approach issues in a structured, logical, step-by-step manner. A practical, fact-based, and solution-oriented style is important, as is the confidence to question the status quo.
