Overview
Qatar Airways Ground Services is hiring an Airport Services Duty Supervisor for its Riyadh, Saudi Arabia operation. This role sits within the Cargo & Airport Operations function and reports to the Duty Officer. The position is focused on leading the airport team to provide outstanding customer service and uphold the airline’s premium 5-star service standards.
The role also supports the Airport Services Manager when required and calls for strong handling of operational disruptions such as flight delays, service interruptions, denied boarding, and passenger-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the station coordinator, working closely with the ground handling partner and Qatar Airways.
- Guide the airport team to support punctual flight closure and passenger boarding, with the goal of maintaining strong on-time performance.
- Allocate manpower efficiently across duty periods for Customer Service Agents.
- Assist the Airport Services Duty Officer during disruptions, misconnections, and other passenger service challenges.
- Carry out aircraft turnaround check (ATC) duties when assigned by the Airport Services Manager to help ensure safe ramp operations.
- Prepare operational reports and maintain a clean, orderly workplace while supporting the Airport Services Manager.
- Act as the first point of contact for agents needing help with queries, issues, or discrepancies.
- Ensure that safety, security, quality, and environmental policies and procedures are consistently followed across operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- A relevant college or university qualification is required.
- At least 4 years of applicable experience in an airline or respected ground handling operation at supervisory level.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
- Working knowledge of weight and balance, ramp handling, and dangerous goods regulations.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure while still delivering high customer service standards.
- Good understanding of conditions of carriage and international civil aviation safety and security procedures.
- Background in passenger services, baggage services, ground operations, dangerous goods regulations, and ramp handling is preferred.
- High computer literacy and strong customer service orientation are essential.
