Role Summary
The Recreation Animator is responsible for supporting daily leisure and pool operations, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and helping deliver enjoyable guest activities. The role also includes pool supervision, basic safety response, facility upkeep, and administrative support as needed.
Key Responsibilities

- Follow operational procedures, checklists, and work instructions to a consistently high standard.
- Prepare facilities each day, including equipment and areas used for recreation activities.
- Support pool operations with tasks that may include cleaning, reception duties, and administrative work.
- Open and close the recreation centre according to the published schedule and ensure public access aligns with health and safety rules.
- Maintain excellent cleanliness and hygiene throughout every shift.
- Monitor the pool area, assist swimmers in trouble, and provide lifesaving or first aid support when required.
- Carry out and record chemical checks for pool water and inform the Duty Manager or Maintenance Engineer if standards are not met.
- Perform routine plant room checks and maintenance, including backwashing filters.
- Attend training sessions as directed by management.
- Keep continuous watch over guests in the facility and respond quickly and correctly in emergencies.
- Provide emergency care and treatment until professional medical help arrives.
- Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and strong guest-service standards at all times.
- Complete maintenance tasks assigned to help keep the facility clean and safe.
- Prepare and update activity reports as required.
- Carry out additional job-related tasks as assigned.
Additional Information
Applicants should have 1–2 years of experience in a comparable role within a luxury hotel or resort. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are important. Candidates must be physically fit enough to stand for extended periods, swim when necessary, and take part in light athletic activity. The role also requires the ability to lead group activities such as games, fitness sessions, or arts and crafts.
