Role Overview

This part-time Recreation Aid position supports recreation activities and facility operations at Fort Stewart, GA. The role focuses on helping patrons use equipment and facilities, keeping recreational areas organized, and assisting with games, events, and light upkeep.

Key Duties

  • Issue recreation tools, games, and equipment only to approved patrons, verify identity when needed, charge fees when applicable, and complete the required paperwork.
  • Accept returned items, look for visible damage or missing pieces, check stock and supplies, and help schedule courts, lanes, and equipment use.
  • Take part in games and social activities and provide direction or support during these events.
  • Prepare party rooms with decorations, keep assigned work areas clean, and share information with patrons about facilities and programs.
  • Help with simple maintenance and minor repairs.
  • Carry out additional tasks as assigned.

Conditions of Employment

  • Direct deposit and a Social Security card are required.
  • The candidate must meet all qualification, eligibility, and background screening requirements for the role.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Completion of employment verification through E-Verify is mandatory.
  • All pre-employment checks must be completed successfully under AR 215-3, paragraph 2, including a Tier 1 background investigation.

This opportunity is open only to applicants within the local commuting area, defined as within 50 miles of Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield, GA. Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible applicants are included.

This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled staff and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.

Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living allowance (COLA), and other differentials will not be paid, subject to eligibility.

Some federal facilities may require a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or ID (star-marked) or an Enhanced Driver's License from WA, MI, MN, NY, or VT.
