Job Overview

This role is designated for a Reconciliation & Reporting Analyst focused on supporting payment operations by validating the accuracy of transaction data, settlements, and financial records. The position primarily involves reconciling information across card networks, banking institutions, payment processors, and internal databases. It also includes investigating discrepancies and creating reporting tools aimed at enhancing financial transparency and operational productivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct reconciliations on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis involving payment transactions, bank settlements, and internal ledger data.
  • Identify reasons for reconciliation differences and lead efforts to resolve issues promptly.
  • Build and upkeep SQL-driven reports, dashboards, and automate reconciliation workflows.
  • Examine transaction data trends, pinpoint data quality problems, and suggest process enhancements.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures, generate required reports, and prepare audit materials.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Accounting, Treasury, Product, and Compliance departments to troubleshoot issues and optimize processes.
  • Maintain detailed process documentation and propose automation strategies to minimize manual tasks.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of experience in reconciliation, payment settlements, finance analytics, or related accounting fields.
  • Proficient in SQL for reporting and handling large datasets.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and analytical techniques.
  • Skilled in investigating financial discrepancies with a strong root-cause analysis capability.
  • Solid understanding of accounting standards and payment systems.
  • Excellent analytical abilities, communication skills, and problem-solving aptitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with card network reconciliation, including Visa and Mastercard.
  • Familiarity with various payment methods such as ACH, wire transfers, SWIFT, RTP/FedNow, and related financial partners.
  • Experience using BI tools like Looker or Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
  • Knowledge of financial controls, month-end close cycles, audit processes, or compliance with SOX standards.

Education

A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience is required.
