Job description

Role Overview

This position supports the Radar Network Manager by overseeing the Bureau's critical weather radar and Wind Profiler networks distributed across Australia. Ensuring effective lifecycle management of radar assets is essential to provide reliable weather radar data to the Australian public and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and generate reports on the performance of Radar assets.
  • Enhance asset information quality within the Bureau's Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS).
  • Implement and maintain maintenance schedules in EAMS to support field technicians in efficient Radar upkeep.
  • Collaborate regularly with Radar field personnel nationwide to gather insights and promote consistent maintenance practices across the network.
  • Coordinate technical activities involving engineering and field teams, including software update deployments.
  • Assist in risk management, budget oversight, development of asset renewal strategies, and preparation of project proposals as needed.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience supporting Radar or comparable technical asset systems.
  • Proficiency or experience in asset management processes.
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven approach with ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and capacity to produce clear technical documentation.
