Role Overview
The Quantity Surveyor for Mechanical and Process & Electrical disciplines, located in Qatar, manages cost and quantity control for these works. Key tasks entail preparing, auditing, and revising Bills of Quantities (BOQ), accurately quantifying from technical drawings and documentation, and supporting tender-related activities. The role requires vigilant monitoring of project expenditures, managing variations, and assisting in cost planning, cost control, and comprehensive cost reporting throughout the project's duration. Collaboration with engineering and project teams is essential, along with aiding in contractual and commercial documentation and contributing to progress and financial documentation, ensuring projects remain within budget and comply with company standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Solid experience in cost management, control, and planning specific to mechanical and P&E works.
- Expertise in BOQ preparation and review, including precise quantity take-offs from technical drawings and specifications.
- Skilled in generating cost reports, conducting variance analysis, and forecasting financial aspects periodically.
- Possession of a relevant degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience within construction or engineering projects, focusing on mechanical and P&E services, preferred.
- Knowledge of common contract types and fundamental contractual and commercial principles.
- Strong analytical and numerical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quantity surveying software tools.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams on-site in Qatar.
