Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage and lead quantity surveying tasks related to infrastructure and civil capital projects in Doha, Qatar. The ideal candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant Engineering field and demonstrate extensive experience within multidisciplinary quantity surveying, specifically for infrastructure and civil works.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or Engineering discipline.
  • At least 12 years of progressive experience in quantity surveying across infrastructure and civil sectors.
  • Prior involvement in oil & gas, energy, industrial, petrochemical, or large-scale construction projects is highly advantageous.
  • Hands-on expertise in tendering processes, administration of re-measurable contracts, BOQ preparation, and cost estimation.
  • Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft Office tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quantity surveying functions including preparation and verification of Bills of Quantities (BOQs), manpower forecasting, tender and contract documentation aligned with project scope.
  • Participate actively in technical and commercial tender assessments.
  • Develop and maintain cost databases and unit cost benchmarks specific to infrastructure, industrial, and energy sectors.
  • Gather and upload cost data from past projects to continuously enhance organizational cost estimating capabilities.
  • Oversee cost engineering, budgeting, invoicing, and commercial management of projects within engineering and project delivery teams.
  • Formulate suitable estimating methods, unit rates, preliminaries, general requirements, and mark-ups for project cost evaluations.
  • Review, assess, approve, or reject contractor invoices, variation claims, and time-dependent cost submissions grounded on commercial evaluation.
  • Validate BOQs and manpower needs prepared by engineering consultants ensuring compatibility with construction and EPC/EPIC tender and contract requirements.
  • Conduct on-site verification and certification of re-measurable works executed by contractors.
