Position Overview
We invite applications for an experienced Quantity Surveyor specialized in Civil Engineering. This role concentrates on managing quantity take-offs, meticulous cost estimation, aiding billing procedures, and implementing cost control measures to ensure the financial efficiency of various construction projects. The chosen candidate will perform precise measurements, oversee cost tracking, comply with contract terms, and liaise effectively with site, billing, and planning teams.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Generate quantity take-offs accurately from project drawings and specifications.
- Compile and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQs), detailed estimates, and cost reports.
- Monitor project expenditures and actively support cost containment strategies.
- Assist in preparing and confirming Running Account (RA) bills and final payment requests.
- Collaborate with site engineers to record measurements and assess work progress.
- Evaluate project variations, additional items, and conduct thorough rate analyses.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of quantities, associated costs, and contractual details.
- Support procurement processes and assist in reconciling material usage.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Candidates from non-related disciplines will not be considered.
- Hold between three to ten years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical capabilities combined with quantitative proficiency.
- In-depth understanding of BOQ preparation, estimation techniques, and rate analysis.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction contracts and cost management.
- Skillful interpretation of technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and coordination abilities.
- Familiarity with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera is advantageous.
