Job description

Role Overview

The Quality Specialist is responsible for creating and updating detailed work instructions and quality documents with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and consistency. This role requires a methodical and analytical mindset to translate complex manufacturing processes into clear, logical documentation while collaborating closely with technical experts. The specialist proactively identifies areas for improvement and ensures compliance with quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, revise, and sustain work instructions, SOPs, and other quality-related documentation for manufacturing operations.
  • Analyze engineering drawings and product specifications to verify correct alignment with documentation.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives including process mapping and waste reduction.
  • Collect and analyze data related to defects, rework, and cycle times to support quality enhancement.
  • Assist with implementation of corrective actions as needed.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in a technical, engineering, or operations discipline or 1-3 years’ experience in quality control, quality engineering, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Proficient in technical writing, process documentation, and data analysis.
  • Familiarity with measurement instruments and statistical process control techniques.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and written communication skills, capable of simplifying complex procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, organized, and adept at team collaboration.
  • Experience with quality systems such as ISO 9001 and continuous improvement methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Competence with data analysis tools such as Excel or Minitab.
  • Associate’s degree in Engineering, Operational Management, or related field is preferred.
