About the Role
Join Downer's Wellington Surfacing team as a Quality Assurance Technician, contributing to the excellence and compliance of infrastructure surfacing projects in the Wellington region. This position involves both field and office work, focusing on upholding the highest standards of quality assurance and control across construction operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality assurance and quality control activities related to surfacing and construction projects.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and operations teams to monitor project compliance.
- Maintain precise records and manage technical data supporting project success.
- Support adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements in operational settings.
Required Skills and Experience
- Relevant tertiary engineering qualification or comparable industry experience.
- Background in civil construction, surfacing, or infrastructure sectors.
- Current full New Zealand Class 1 driver licence with WTR endorsement; Class 2 licence is beneficial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to keep detailed records and manage technical information accurately.
- Familiarity with quality assurance and quality control methodologies.
- Risk identification and support of compliance in operational environments.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative communication skills.
Desirable Attributes
- Knowledge of NZTA/Waka Kotahi specifications and standards.
- Experience preparing or engaging with Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Understanding of asphalt, sealing, surfacing, or similar construction activities.
- Experience collecting, analysing, and reporting quality-related project data.
