Eurofins BioPharma Product Testing in Australia and New Zealand offers contract GMP testing services for human and animal pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, cosmetic, and complementary medicine products. Their laboratories in Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland are GMP licensed and ISO 17025 accredited.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Lead to oversee the Quality Management System (QMS) at our Auckland, Penrose laboratory site on a flexible part-time, onsite basis. Reporting to the Head of Quality for Australia/New Zealand and collaborating with the Business Unit Manager, you will be instrumental in maintaining compliance with GMP and other regulatory standards, promoting quality culture, and driving continuous improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System for the site.
• Lead coordination of audits including client, supplier, and regulatory inspections.
• Direct investigations into deviations, incidents, complaints, and out-of-specification/out-of-trend results.
• Oversee internal audit programs and proficiency testing initiatives.
• Manage supplier qualification processes and technical quality agreements.
• Support training programs, promote quality awareness, and ensure compliance with established procedures.
• Review and approve quality documentation and controlled records.
• Monitor adherence to GMP, laboratory quality standards, and internal policies.
• Participate in management reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement projects.
• Engage with clients and internal stakeholders on matters related to quality.
• Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by senior leadership.

Qualifications and Candidate Profile

• A degree in Microbiology, Life Sciences, Quality, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience in GMP, GLP, pharmaceutical, medical device, or laboratory quality environments.
• Proven ability managing quality systems, audits, compliance programs, and investigations.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Excellent organizational skills combined with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while balancing multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• A collaborative and pragmatic approach to solving problems.
