Role Overview
The QA/QC Inspector will contribute to achieving a zero-defect, zero-rework outcome on the project. A key target for this role is ensuring there are no snags at handover to the client. The position requires a proactive approach to supporting departmental objectives in a structured and controlled way.
Key Duties
- Maintain and support the project quality management system in line with Mercury procedures and standard operating practices.
- Help create project-specific quality procedures and inspection/test plans.
- Run quality induction sessions to build awareness of project requirements.
- Work with engineering, operations, and project management teams to support quality delivery.
- Carry out in-progress and surveillance inspections across all work activities on the project.
- Check that work meets industry standards such as IEC and IEEE, customer specifications, and legal or regulatory requirements.
- Audit and inspect electrical products and systems.
- Prepare, check, and maintain quality records, including inspection reports and certificates.
- Perform final inspections on completed work.
- Develop and track KPIs to improve quality performance.
- Investigate defects and failures, identify root causes, and support corrective action.
- Use Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S methods to improve processes and efficiency.
Essential Requirements
- Solid understanding of electrical systems and relevant standards.
- Working knowledge of quality management systems and KPI development.
- Experience with internal audits, corrective and preventive actions, and compliance documentation.
- Familiarity with calibration systems, test plans, and quality documentation.
