  • Source marine technical equipment, parts, and supplies from authorized local and international vendors.
  • Collect and analyze supplier quotations considering product details, pricing, brand, availability, delivery schedules, and commercial conditions.
  • Negotiate pricing, discounts, payment, and delivery terms aligned with company policies.
  • Identify appropriate products through specifications, relevant product codes (IMPA/ISSA), drawings, and other references.
  • Ensure ordered items meet stipulated specifications, quantities, certified brands, and delivery timelines.
  • Create precise purchase orders encapsulating all technical and commercial information.
  • Maintain regular supplier communication to confirm orders and ensure timely dispatch and receipt.
  • Collaborate with internal teams – sales, operations, logistics, warehouse, and finance – to guarantee smooth fulfillment of orders.
  • Offer alternative product options if requested items are unavailable, subject to technical and commercial approval.
  • Develop and sustain strong business ties with manufacturers, distributors, and specialized suppliers.
  • Proactively seek new procurement sources to improve competitiveness and supply reliability.
  • Keep comprehensive and accurate records of procurement activities and supplier performance in company systems.
  • Monitor suppliers for quality, price stability, responsiveness, delivery reliability, and promptly resolve related issues such as shortages or discrepancies.
  • Drive ongoing enhancements within the purchasing function.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality standards regarding all company, customer, supplier, and commercial data.

Candidate Profile

  • Between 2 to 5 years’ experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally in marine, offshore, ship-supply, industrial, or engineering sectors.
  • Strong understanding of marine technical products and related procurement processes.
  • Experience managing the entire purchasing lifecycle effectively.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical specs, part numbers, and catalog information accurately.
  • Excellent sourcing and negotiation capabilities combined with commercial judgment.
  • Skilled at analyzing multiple quotations to derive informed purchasing decisions.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Capability to juggle multiple purchase orders and inquiries in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proficient written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Competence with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and ERP/procurement software tools.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with effective follow-up practices.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating efficiently with other departments.
  • High ethical standards and professionalism with full confidentiality adherence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
  • Prior exposure to the maritime industry and knowledge of marine and industrial supplier markets.
  • Experience in sourcing from international and local manufacturers, distributors, or stockists.
  • Familiarity with IMPA and ISSA product referencing systems is advantageous.
