Job description
Role overview
As a Purchasing Officer, you will help keep hotel operations running smoothly by supporting procurement, inventory control, and receiving activities. This role contributes directly to guest satisfaction by ensuring the right items arrive on time, meet quality expectations, and are available in the correct quantities.
What you will do
- Assist with purchasing and receiving tasks, including procurement support, stock monitoring, and inventory control to keep levels appropriate and operations efficient.
- Coordinate with outlet managers and other internal stakeholders so that purchases align with operational needs and required specifications.
- Check invoices for correctness, identify mismatches, and follow up to resolve issues and support timely payment processing.
- Work with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing, place purchase orders, and track deliveries to ensure goods arrive as scheduled.
- Inspect incoming shipments to confirm they match order details, grade requirements, and quality standards.
- Train, organize schedules for, and supervise purchasing and receiving clerks while offering coaching and support to maintain strong team performance.
