Role overview

The Australian Taxation Office is hiring Publishing Officers to support the Public Advice and Guidance team. This role is focused on getting public advice and guidance content ready for publication, with attention to formatting, accuracy, consistency and compliance with accessibility requirements.

What you will do

You will work under supervision, while also being trusted with a degree of independence and responsibility for producing accurate, consistent publishing outputs.

• Prepare documents so they are ready for publication.
• Apply ATO style rules, including formatting, citations and references.
• Ensure published material meets accessibility standards.
• Coordinate with authoring teams when document changes are needed.
• Balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
• Carry out basic tagging tasks.
• Keep records accurate and up to date.
• Complete checks to confirm quality and integrity.
• Provide administrative support to the public advice and guidance system.

Location and engagement

These positions may be available on either an ongoing or non-ongoing basis, and can be based in Canberra, Newcastle or Parramatta. The role listed here is located in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.
