About the Role
We are searching confidentially for a Public Affairs Consultant to join an independent research and advisory institute specializing in government affairs, geopolitical strategy, and cross-sector issue analysis. This remote, part-time opportunity involves collaborating with leaders across public, private, and non-profit sectors to address complex regulatory and geopolitical challenges. The role offers significant autonomy to influence analysis and recommendations across diverse regions and sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Observe and evaluate regulatory, legislative, and governmental affairs developments across multiple local, national, and international jurisdictions.
- Conduct original investigations and produce comprehensive briefs, memos, and reports aligned with client and institutional priorities.
- Establish and maintain expertise in targeted regions or issue areas.
- Translate intricate regulatory and geopolitical data into concise briefings for senior management and client teams.
- Assist in designing and delivering client presentations, workshops, and briefing sessions.
- Foster and sustain professional relationships with external experts, governmental contacts, and subject matter authorities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, Public Policy, Business, or related fields; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Five to fifteen years of experience in government affairs, policy research, strategic communications, or comparable advisory roles.
- Proven skills in research, analysis, and writing under time constraints.
- Comprehensive understanding of legislative, regulatory, and decision-making processes within institutions.
- Ability to work independently across different time zones within distributed teams.
- Exemplary judgment in managing sensitive and confidential information.
Preferred Attributes
- Specialized knowledge of the Asia-Pacific, North America, or European regions.
- Work experience in research institutes, advisory firms, governmental offices, or international organizations.
- Fluency in an additional language pertinent to the client portfolio.
- Established connections within government, industry, or academia.
