Role Overview

We are recruiting for a Project Planner based at our headquarters in Slane, County Meath, Ireland, to provide dedicated planning support for key data centre projects across European sites. This position entails creating, managing, and updating comprehensive project timelines from initial planning stages through to project completion. The ideal candidate will showcase strong expertise in project scheduling, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to navigating complex, fast-paced project environments.

The hiring organization is a leading specialist electrical contractor headquartered in Ireland, specializing in medium voltage and low voltage cable installations, along with busbar and containment solutions. They handle mission-critical projects across Europe and beyond, serving sectors including data centres, pharmaceuticals, renewables, power generation, and critical infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain detailed project schedules integrating scope, milestones, and resource plans.
  • Track project progress compared to baseline plans and identify risks or delays early.
  • Conduct regular site visits to collect real-time updates and ensure accurate schedule alignment.
  • Lead planning meetings with both internal teams and external partners for timeline coordination.
  • Advise on sequence and resource adjustments to enhance project efficiency and timely milestone completion.
  • Incorporate scope changes and variations in collaboration with commercial and delivery stakeholders.
  • Produce and distribute clear progress reports to site leaders and senior management.
  • Contribute to risk mitigation by analyzing schedule impacts and suggesting corrective measures.
  • Help develop short-term lookahead plans to steer on-site activities effectively.
  • Ensure meticulous maintenance of planning documentation and records to meet company and project standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 project scheduling software is mandatory.
  • At least three years of experience in planning and scheduling for large-scale projects.
  • Experience working on data centre projects is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with aptitude for interpreting complex project information and clear communication.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills paired with a collaborative team approach.
  • Must be an EU citizen or have unrestricted travel rights within the EU.
