About the Role

Join a reputable construction firm in Wanaka, Otago, to lead a variety of commercial new build and refurbishment projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the successful completion of commercial construction projects from initiation to finish.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise all stages of project setup and construction activities.
  • Create and manage construction schedules, ensuring milestone targets are met.
  • Coordinate efforts among subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Handle budgeting, forecast expenses, and maintain positive cash flow for each project.
  • Evaluate and administer contract changes and variations.
  • Prepare detailed monthly progress and financial reports.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and adhere to company protocols.
  • Ensure projects comply with quality standards, timelines, and financial goals.
  • Promote Health & Safety and sustainable environmental practices across all sites.
  • Foster enduring relationships with clients and stakeholders through active communication.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of five years' experience leading commercial or upscale architectural building projects.
  • Strong grasp of commercial and financial project management.
  • Excellent leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with keen attention to detail.
  • In-depth knowledge of New Zealand's construction methods and contractual frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project.
  • Preferred tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; extensive industry experience will also be considered.
  • Dedication to quality, ongoing improvement, and adherence to industry best practices.
