Project Manager – Enterprise Digital Manufacturing

Role Overview

This remote contract role is for a Project Manager supporting the Enterprise Digital Manufacturing team of a Fortune 100 food and beverage manufacturer. The assignment is expected to begin as an initial 12-month term and may continue beyond that. Candidates must be based in the United States.

The role focuses on projects tied to the Product Supply organization. You will oversee project delivery across the full lifecycle, making sure outcomes align with the approved business case and that performance is managed across scope, schedule, quality, cost, risk, and benefits. Success in this position depends on strong visibility into project status, awareness of issues, and timely escalation and resolution.

Schedule and Travel

The working pattern is Monday through Thursday onsite, with Fridays working from home. Travel is required once per month, up to 50%, with increased travel expected around go-live periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Build detailed project plans, define milestones, set deadlines, establish reporting routines, and allocate resources in line with the digital strategy.
• Use proven project management methods, tools, and practices to support timely launch and smooth execution from initial concept through completion.
• Spot potential risks and exposure early, assess coordination gaps or improvement areas, and choose practical next steps when several options are available.
• Oversee project budgets, including cost forecasts and cash flow projections, and prepare cost and status reporting at least monthly or whenever stakeholders request it.
• Track KPIs, highlight results that fall below target, lead root-cause reviews when performance misses expectations, and help drive corrective actions.
• Maintain project information in the portfolio management system, including resource plans, and review time entries to identify differences between planned and actual effort.
• Provide weekly updates to leadership, keep work aligned to business goals, and raise issues early to protect timeline commitments.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in technology, business, management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of project management experience, with 5 or more years preferred, in manufacturing or operations settings.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing or operations environments, including familiarity with how a warehouse floor operates.
• Ability to manage budgets, cost center flows, and vendor management processes.
• Comfort using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint, along with other project management platforms.
• Experience handling stakeholders within a project management role.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate discussions and resolve conflicts in cross-functional teams.
• Advanced proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project and Smartsheet.
• Consumer goods industry experience is preferred.
• Operations-focused project management experience in areas such as manufacturing, warehousing, or quality is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
