Role summary
An established, employee-owned engineering consulting firm in British Columbia is looking for a Project Manager to support the delivery of municipal infrastructure, land development, and community-focused projects. The organization also works on initiatives connected to Indigenous communities.
This position offers the chance to manage work across the entire project lifecycle, from early planning and design through construction. It suits someone who enjoys combining technical engineering knowledge, project leadership, and client-facing work in a team-based, multidisciplinary setting.
What you will do
- Oversee municipal and community infrastructure assignments from the planning stage through to construction closeout.
- Coordinate and lead teams made up of engineering and planning professionals.
- Guide and support junior team members working on infrastructure projects.
- Draft technical reports, engineering calculations, and related project documentation.
- Work with CAD staff to develop drawings and technical specifications.
- Prepare construction tender packages and assist with procurement activities.
- Administer construction contracts; experience with CCDC and MMCD contracts is an advantage.
- Support construction-phase work such as site reviews, inspections, quality control, and quality assurance.
- Help prepare proposals for upcoming project opportunities.
- Build and maintain client relationships and support stakeholder engagement.
- Contribute to community engagement materials and help facilitate project workshops.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
- At least 8 years of engineering experience, ideally gained in a consulting environment.
- P.Eng. status in British Columbia, or the ability to register immediately.
- Background in municipal infrastructure or land development project delivery.
- Strong understanding of engineering design, construction workflows, and project execution.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Clear written and spoken communication skills.
- A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel for project-related work.
- Comfort performing fieldwork, including site visits in different terrain and conditions.
Preferred experience
- Exposure to Indigenous communities or projects delivered for Indigenous Services Canada.
- Knowledge of ISC funding processes.
- Experience in subdivision or land development design.
- Background in community engagement and stakeholder coordination.
