Job description
Role Overview
The Project Director will take charge of end-to-end leadership for major building construction programmes, guiding strategy, execution, and stakeholder coordination to achieve top outcomes in safety, quality, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction. This position calls for deep experience handling complex projects and leading cross-functional teams while building productive relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulators.
Key Responsibilities
- Steer the project with clear leadership and direction so delivery targets for safety, quality, timing, cost, and client happiness are met.
- Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders through all phases of project delivery.
- Monitor and manage commercial matters, contract administration, and risk controls across large-scale construction works.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a degree in Civil Engineering or another closely related engineering field.
- Brings more than 20 years of experience in large building construction, with a track record of delivering projects of similar size and complexity.
- Has at least 10 years in senior leadership positions within construction projects.
- Has prior work experience in Qatar or across the GCC region.
- Demonstrates strong capability in managing multidisciplinary teams and major project stakeholders.
- Possesses solid experience in commercial oversight, contract handling, and risk management on major construction assignments.
- Is proficient in Primavera P6, BIM tools such as Revit and Navisworks, and modern digital construction methods.
- Holds valid MMUP/UPDA registration where required.
- Can communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
- Is able to work fully on-site.
Preferred Background
- Experience with accommodation compounds, residential communities, or large building complexes is an advantage.
- Familiarity with QatarEnergy, major clients, consultants, and local authority procedures will be valued.
- Valid MMUP/UPDA registration in Qatar is preferred.
