MEP Manager (Ras Laffan)

Role overview

We are looking for a seasoned MEP Manager to take charge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection, and ELV system delivery on major building projects in Ras Laffan. This position spans the entire project lifecycle, from design coordination and site execution through testing, commissioning, and handover.

The role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can coordinate engineering, construction, commissioning, and stakeholder interactions to maintain quality, progress, and successful delivery on complex developments.

Responsibilities

• Direct all MEP activities, covering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV works from engineering stage to commissioning and final handover.
• Handle coordination of MEP design, review shop drawings, prepare material submittals, and secure technical approvals.
• Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and on-site teams to achieve timely, high-quality execution.
• Work closely with civil, architectural, and structural teams to ensure smooth integration across disciplines.
• Maintain compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, and relevant international standards.
• Oversee testing and commissioning, system checks, and final inspections.
• Engage with consultants, clients, and government authorities for approvals and inspection processes.
• Track project status, troubleshoot technical challenges, and apply corrective measures when needed.
• Promote adherence to safety and quality requirements across all MEP works.
• Compile progress updates, technical records, and project close-out documentation.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of experience in MEP construction.
• Background in large-scale building projects such as residential, accommodation, mixed-use, institutional, or similar developments.
• Demonstrated success delivering projects of similar size and complexity.
• Prior experience leading MEP execution on large residential, accommodation, commercial, or mixed-use schemes.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Currently located in Qatar or another GCC country; GCC experience is acceptable in place of Qatar experience.
• Strong command of testing, commissioning, and authority approval procedures.
• Well-developed leadership, coordination, and stakeholder management capabilities, including cross-functional delivery experience.
• Valid MMUP/UPDA registration where applicable.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Prior exposure to QatarEnergy, major clients, consultants, and local authority requirements is an advantage.
