Overview
The Program Manager at Sierra Meadows Behavioral Health oversees daily operations of the mental health outpatient program, ensuring delivery of exceptional patient care in alignment with regulatory and accreditation standards. Reporting to the Program Director, this position supervises clinical and administrative teams, manages program schedules, monitors clinical documentation, and promotes continuous quality improvement. The manager is pivotal in staff development, interdisciplinary collaboration, and maintaining robust relationships with patients, families, and referral sources.
Core Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to Joint Commission standards and manage electronic medical records compliance with HIPAA, ADA, DHCS, and related regulations.
- Supervise insurance compliance related to utilization review and medical necessity requirements.
- Oversee patient treatment progress and appropriateness of care levels.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary services for patients and families.
- Support clinical and non-clinical staff during crisis interventions.
- Document patient interactions and interventions accurately.
- Assist in recruitment and training of staff, contractors, and trainees.
- Evaluate performance outcomes and support staff development.
- Manage program scheduling and collaborate with admissions to ensure smooth intake processes.
- Lead or participate in staff meetings, case conferences, and training sessions.
- Foster community relationships and represent the organization professionally.
- Undertake occasional travel during workdays and for overnight stays with compensation provided.
- Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality in work and company activities.
- Contribute creatively to organizational tactics and strategic planning.
- Enhance job-related knowledge through ongoing education and professional development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related discipline.
- At least three years’ experience in mental health, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory role.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within teams.
- Experience engaging with culturally diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and equity initiatives.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality in decision-making.
- Effective multitasking and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
- Physical and mental fitness to fulfill essential duties.
- Possession of a valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Fluency and strong communication skills in English.
Work Environment
- Diverse settings including offices, program sites, and external locations.
- Travel required using company or personal vehicles.
Compensation
Annual salary ranges between $72,000 and $80,000.
