Shaw Brick traces its roots back 160 years to the first clay brick production in Lantz, Nova Scotia. Role Overview

This position supports plant operations by learning to handle forklift tasks and stepping into different areas of the facility as needed. The role is hands-on, production-focused, and requires a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Key Duties

• Learn how to operate a forklift safely and support plant activities where needed.
• Build competence in operating the block-making line and palletizing finished product.
• Assist with pallet repairs.
• Clean the mixer, work areas, and block machine.
• Carry out other assigned production or housekeeping tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Safety must always be treated as the top priority, even in a fast-moving production environment.
• Bring a positive mindset and a strong drive to help achieve production targets.
• Take part in MDP and toolbox meetings.
• Minimum education of Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
• Ability to operate a lift truck safely is required.
• Mechanical aptitude, with the ability to diagnose issues and work through problems.
• Strong collaboration skills and good verbal and written communication abilities.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and processes.
• Availability to work overtime when needed.
• Flexibility to work varying hours as required.
• Maintains a clean attendance and discipline record.
• Welding experience is considered an advantage.
