Role Summary

As a Production Supervisor at Green Farm Fine Foods, Rathowen, your role is to oversee and coordinate the production teams and processes to ensure consistent, safe, and efficient operations. You will serve as a vital connection between production personnel and senior management, while empowering Team Leaders to achieve defined objectives and performance indicators.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Make daily operational decisions independently, escalating complex matters to the Production Manager as needed.
  • Establish strong collaborations with departments such as Quality, Maintenance, Planning, NPD, Health & Safety, and HR to enhance team effectiveness and development.
  • Handle a dynamic production environment involving multiple priorities, maintaining compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety standards.
  • Forge meaningful relationships across cross-functional teams to support operational success.
  • Create and implement development plans aimed at upskilling Team Leaders.
  • Supervise employee breaks, attendance, leave management, and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure completion of mandatory statutory and skills training for all team members.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels and aid HR in recruitment lifecycle activities.
  • Promote and sustain a safe working environment aligned with Health & Safety culture.
  • Uphold superior food quality and hygiene practices consistent with 7s standards.
  • Manage operational performance including production plan fulfillment, yield, productivity, and efficiency measures.
  • Lead sustainability efforts to reduce environmental impact and waste generation.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects, lead meetings, and participate actively in GEMBA walk-throughs.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualification in Food Science, Agricultural Science, or a related subject area.
  • Proven leadership experience supervising large teams in FMCG or food production contexts.
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication abilities.
  • Strong aptitude for building professional relationships and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Good understanding of food manufacturing processes and adaptable to a fast-moving work environment.
  • Demonstrated capability in developing people and aligning with organisational values of Care, Commitment, and Trust.

Working Conditions and Effort

  • Work takes place in a fast-paced production setting; shift work may be required.
  • On-site attendance at the Rathowen facility is mandatory.
  • The role involves physical activity on the production floor and demands emotional strength to manage team dynamics effectively.

People Management

Responsible for supervising Team Leaders and Operatives assigned to the production area.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of production plans.
  • Performance optimization of production yields.
  • Control and reduction of absenteeism rates.
  • Successful completion of training programs.
  • Adherence to hygiene and safety standards.
  • Monitoring and enhancement of productivity metrics.
