Production Supervisor

Overview

The Production Supervisor is tasked with overseeing and guiding the production team to consistently meet production goals, maintain quality standards, and uphold safety protocols. This position demands a skilled leader who promotes operational efficiency, drives improvements in processes, and fosters a positive and productive workplace atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production operations to guarantee achievement of targets, adherence to schedules, and fulfillment of quality benchmarks.
• Lead, train, and assess production personnel, ensuring staff possess the necessary tools and skills to work effectively and safely.
• Enforce safety regulations and policies to maintain a secure working environment for all team members.
• Diagnose and resolve production challenges promptly to minimize downtime and sustain output levels.
• Analyze production data and performance indicators to pinpoint improvement opportunities and apply corrective measures.

Company Compliance and Maintenance

• Ensure all activities comply with company policies concerning safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Carry out regular inspections of equipment and facilities to maintain proper maintenance and cleanliness.
• Prepare detailed production reports—including daily, weekly, and monthly metrics—and share insights with management.

Collaboration and Team Development

• Coordinate production workflows and work alongside departments such as maintenance, quality control, and inventory to streamline operations.
• Support the creation and implementation of process enhancements, cost-saving initiatives, and waste reduction strategies.
• Encourage staff motivation and engagement, nurturing an environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous progress.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the line manager.

Experience and Skills Needed

• Demonstrable experience in a supervisory role within manufacturing or production settings.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulatory requirements applicable to production environments.
• Proficiency with production management software and Microsoft Office tools.
• Capacity to thrive and remain flexible in a fast-moving and evolving workplace.
• Experience working in factory settings is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, with additional qualifications or technical certifications in manufacturing, engineering, or related fields considered an asset.
