Role overview
This position is for a Production Planner / Material Planner in a manufacturing setting. The role may be offered as a 6-month contract or as a permanent position. The main purpose of the job is to keep production running smoothly by aligning schedules, materials, inventory, and demand requirements so products are available when customers need them.
What you will do
- Build and update production schedules for finished goods and sub-assemblies based on forecasted and actual customer demand.
- Track stock levels and ensure inventory is available across distribution centers.
- Work closely with Customer Service, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to support timely order completion.
- Analyze demand changes and revise production plans when priorities shift.
- Keep an eye on backorders, inventory health, and planning performance metrics.
- Update planning settings and master data in ERP and MRP platforms.
- Compile inventory and planning reports for management.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts and day-to-day plant operations.
- Follow internal safety rules and quality requirements at all times.
Requirements
- A diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Production Planning, or a similar discipline is required.
- At least 3 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or logistics within a manufacturing environment is needed.
- Hands-on exposure to ERP or MRP systems such as Oracle or SAP is expected.
- You should bring strong analytical ability, planning capability, and a practical approach to solving problems.
- Advanced use of Microsoft Excel and reporting tools is important for the role.
- Clear communication and effective stakeholder coordination skills are necessary.
