Production Planner

About the Role

This full-time permanent position is based in Bassendean, Perth, within a reputable company specializing in steel manufacturing, specifically reinforcement materials and rebar production. The core focus of this position is to enhance scheduling efficiency, improve throughput, and minimise operational downtime in a fast-paced production setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain optimized production schedules balancing customer deadlines with factory capacity.
• Formulate forward-looking production plans on weekly, monthly, and project bases.
• Monitor and realign production timelines dynamically to manage constraints.
• Sequence production tasks to maximize machinery utilization and minimize changeover times.
• Detect production bottlenecks and implement measures to increase factory throughput.
• Collaborate effectively with supervisors to sustain steady production flow.
• Keep precise production records within the ASA ERP system.
• Communicate scheduling updates and expected delivery timings transparently to customers.

Candidate Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in production planning or scheduling roles.
• Background in manufacturing environments such as steel, rebar, or construction materials is advantageous.
• Comprehensive understanding of production workflows and capacity planning principles.
• Proficient in using ERP software, with ASA system knowledge highly preferred.
• Capability to juggle competing priorities under fast-paced, high-pressure conditions.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
• A proactive approach with a focus on problem-solving and continual process improvement.
