Role Overview

The Manufacturing Shift Executive at a leading multinational consumer goods company plays a pivotal role in managing manufacturing operations with an emphasis on safety, quality, and efficiency. This position demands technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement to meet the organisation's production goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain a strong culture of safety on the shop floor, ensuring adherence to safety protocols such as Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout-Tagout-Tryout (LOTOTO), risk assessments, and machine safety standards.
  • Manage daily manufacturing operations to meet production targets by optimising manpower, machinery, materials, and utilities, and ensuring schedule compliance while reducing downtime.
  • Uphold quality standards by driving process discipline, complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), reducing defects, analysing root causes, and implementing corrective and preventive measures.
  • Enhance operational efficiency via waste minimisation, boosting technology efficiency, improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), and leading continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives such as Kaizen projects.
  • Supervise and develop operators and technicians, providing coaching, identifying training needs, nurturing technical skills, and fostering a productive working environment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, support preventive maintenance, manage breakdown situations, and improve machine performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, quality, safety, and operational activities, ensuring compliance with company policies, audit requirements, statutory regulations, and internal controls.
