Job Purpose

The Production Controller will be responsible for overseeing and verifying the documentation associated with heavy and base maintenance checks. This includes ensuring that all work packages are executed on schedule, meeting the airline's procedures and regulatory standards, particularly those laid out by CAMO and Air Arabia's Procedures Manual.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer document control and validation of heavy maintenance documentation received from Maintenance Planning, ensuring proper preparation, distribution, and display on the action board.
• Maintain awareness and compliance with TPM and MOE Manual procedures across all maintenance checks, including A-checks, C-checks, and engine/APU changes.
• Distribute planned maintenance cards in control docks ensuring proper sequence and display order.
• Manage and prioritize any additional maintenance activities identified during inspections such as pre-docking or routine servicing, ensuring correct execution.
• Continuously monitor maintenance progress to guarantee smooth workflows; promptly report delays or deviations and initiate corrective actions as needed.
• Issue non-routine maintenance cards for defects logged in Technical or Cabin Log Books and track follow-ups as per procedure.
• Manage deferred defect entries in the AMOS system and prepare comprehensive debrief reports upon aircraft departure.
• Compare booked and actual man-hours for each aircraft to ensure alignment, escalating differences to the Planning Engineer.
• Review engineers’ completed task documentation against initial approvals to detect discrepancies before certification.
• Prepare and communicate lists of material and tool shortages to Technical Procurement, following up until issues are resolved.
• Coordinate urgent material needs with Technical Procurement during Aircraft on Ground scenarios.
• Maintain and update records of all component changes per hangar inputs until maintenance completion.
• Collaborate with MCC and Line Maintenance to facilitate timely aircraft release post-maintenance.
• Forward completed work packages and records to Maintenance Planning and Technical Records teams post-maintenance and prior to aircraft departure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aircraft Engineering, Aeronautical, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent; higher diploma or certificate combined with relevant experience may be considered.
• Training or workshops on Human Factors are highly desirable.
• Eligibility to obtain Quality Assurance Authorization related to the position.
• Project Management certification or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
• Additional certifications or training in Cost Control, Compliance, Budgeting, and Quality Assurance are valued and may be required.
• Proficiency with technology systems, especially Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including reporting and presentations.
• Fluency in English is required.

Experience

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in aviation maintenance planning and records, ideally with low-cost carriers operating Airbus A320 aircraft.
• Knowledge of aircraft airworthiness regulations, including CAMO.
• Understanding of maintenance planning documentation such as MPD, MRB, and AMP.
• Competence with aircraft planning systems and maintenance program relationships.
• Experience liaising with Civil Aviation Authorities, preferably GCAA, including knowledge of their maintenance regulations, procedures, and licensing.
• Proven ability to work effectively with engineers and technicians in dynamic, heavy workload environments with frequent ad-hoc situations.
• Familiarity with EASA Part 145, Part 21, and Subpart M requirements.
• Detail-oriented, cost-conscious, efficient, and committed to achieving results under pressure and shift patterns including nights.
