Overview
The Product Strategy & Planning Manager will lead the creation and execution of commercial product strategies at Walt Disney World, focusing on Attractions & Entertainment investments and site-wide commercial needs. This role requires strategic thinking, business acumen, and the ability to partner with leaders across the company to influence long-term guest experience and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and drive new business opportunities to enhance site performance, including comprehensive market assessments and stakeholder collaboration to build complex business cases for senior leadership.
- Enhance existing or new product offerings by developing structured frameworks and analyzing consumer insights and performance trends, in partnership with Finance, Consumer Insight, Industrial Engineering, and Revenue Planning teams.
- Present strategic recommendations tailored for diverse audiences, including executives and partners, to secure buy-in.
- Lead project management of approved initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure smooth implementation of new products.
- Facilitate and influence discussions in cross-functional forums to align on strategic initiatives that promote site growth.
- Effectively prioritize and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum three years of experience in business development, strategy, consulting, brand management, finance, marketing, innovation, or digital product management.
- Strong financial and analytical skills to develop long-term profitable strategies within a matrix organization.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a track record in business development and product strategy.
- Expertise in synthesizing complex consumer insights from multiple sources into clear and actionable strategies.
- High emotional intelligence and ability to build partnerships and influence without direct authority.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to simplify complex issues into compelling presentations for senior leadership.
- Proven capacity to handle a large workload by prioritizing effectively to achieve business outcomes.
- Understanding of P&L management, capital projects, operating plans, and data interpretation.
Preferred Experience and Education
- Deep knowledge of consumer products, theme parks, and resort industries.
- Eight or more years of relevant experience in business development, strategy, or related fields.
- Familiarity with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts products and experiences.
- Advanced degree such as an MBA or Master’s in a related field.
Education Required
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Industrial Engineering, Marketing, or other quantitative fields or equivalent experience.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role in Orlando, FL is $100,100 to $134,200 annually. Final compensation is influenced by factors including geographic location, relevant skills, and experience. The package may also include bonuses, long-term incentives, and comprehensive medical and financial benefits depending on role level.
