Product Strategist

Role overview

Propellerhead is looking for an experienced Product Strategist who works in an AI-native way and enjoys helping clients identify real business value. The role is centred on shaping problems worth solving, clarifying what success should look like, and supporting delivery teams so they build only work that is funded and meaningful. This position is client-facing and places strong emphasis on long-term relationships, practical delivery, and using AI to move quickly from ideas to testable concepts.

Working arrangement and location

This role follows a hybrid setup, combining time in the office with work from home. Applicants must be based in Auckland. People elsewhere in New Zealand, or internationally, are welcome to apply if they are planning to relocate to Auckland, and relocation plans should be included in the application.

Key responsibilities

• Define the client value behind each piece of work and clearly explain the actual outcome being purchased.
• Translate problems, assumptions, and success measures into language that is easy for clients and teams to understand.
• Keep delivery teams focused on approved and funded backlog items, adjusting scope when needed.
• Partner with both internal teams and client stakeholders to balance business and functional goals.
• Lead discovery activity and manage scope to deliver the highest value while using resources efficiently, including rapid AI-based prototyping and testing.
• Set hypotheses and measurable success criteria that show whether the solution is working.
• Keep product teams aligned by sharing upcoming work, context, and the broader challenges shaping product direction.
