Job description

Role Overview

The Product Specialist for Molex will support the Power and Signal Business Unit (PSBU), with a particular focus on the High-Power portfolio. This position blends strong product expertise with customer-facing and sales-support responsibilities to help solve technical challenges and create business value.

About the Team

The Product Specialist group is dedicated to answering customer technical questions with fast, accurate, and solution-oriented guidance. The team partners closely with Sales and Product Management to build tailored solutions that match customer applications and design requirements.

Beyond technical support, the team looks for opportunities to increase revenue through up-selling and cross-selling within the PSBU range. By maintaining strong product knowledge and effective customer relationships, the team helps expand business while building long-term trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide outstanding support at every customer touchpoint by taking ownership, responding quickly, following up on time, and delivering accurate first-time solutions that balance technical and commercial needs.
  • Build and maintain strong knowledge of products and applications, including features, use cases, pricing, lifecycle stage, and how the offering compares with competitors.
  • Contribute to revenue growth across assigned product lines by spotting unmet needs, new application areas, and opportunities to win more business from existing customers.
  • Support and train sales teams, channel partners, and inside sales colleagues by explaining product value, recommending solutions, and strengthening overall product understanding.
  • Assist customers through product choice, RFQs, sample requests, and technical-commercial discussions to help speed up design wins and approvals.
  • Track market trends and competitive developments, identify product gaps, and suggest actions that help protect or improve market share.
  • Work with Product Management, Engineering, Operations/Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing to resolve issues that affect revenue performance or customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to product lifecycle work such as launches, product changes, transitions, and end-of-life planning, while staying current on new technologies, releases, and roadmap updates.

Qualifications

This role is intended for professionals with 2 to 4 years of experience. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or another relevant technical field is preferred, although candidates with strong industry experience may also be considered.

The ideal candidate should have a strong blend of technical understanding and commercial awareness, with the ability to turn product knowledge into practical customer solutions. Experience working with OEMs, distributors, or channel partners in a technical sales or customer-facing capacity is highly desirable.

About the Employer
