About the role
The Product Owner role sits inside Perry Homes’ IT PMO and supports key business functions as well as mission-critical systems. This position works closely with stakeholders to uncover operational challenges and growth opportunities, then turns those needs into practical process improvements and technology solutions. Using stakeholder input, market and customer research, and data-driven analysis, the Product Owner collaborates with business leaders to shape product backlogs and roadmaps and helps product teams deliver against those plans.
What you will do
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Understand business needs and pain points, then advocate for new ideas supported by measurable insights.
- Use market research, competitive benchmarking, stakeholder discussions, and data analysis to develop the product backlog with business owners.
- Work with business owners to refine backlog items and create and maintain the product roadmap.
- Identify funding and staffing requirements needed to execute the roadmap, and help prepare business cases to secure approval.
- Guide and facilitate product teams so they can execute the roadmap, encouraging bigger thinking and effective collaboration to achieve outcomes.
- Apply strong business analysis skills to gather, visualize, and document requirements as user stories.
Requirements
The employer is looking for a candidate with either a college degree or at least 5 years of relevant experience. A minimum of 3 years working as a Product Owner is required. Experience with Azure DevOps or a comparable tool is preferred, and familiarity with Agile methods and principles is expected.
