Job description
About the Team
The Product Operations department at Tickertape plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless daily functioning of our services across investing, subscriptions, and digital gold. This team collaborates closely with Product, Engineering, Compliance, Customer Experience (CX), and external partners related to brokerage, KYC/verification, payments, and gold to maintain smooth onboarding, transaction, and account servicing processes.
Role Overview
As a Product Operations Associate, you will take charge of the operational health of Tickertape's key products. Your responsibilities will include real-time monitoring and troubleshooting, identifying procedural inefficiencies, implementing automations, and conveying product enhancement needs when operational challenges indicate deeper product issues. You will act as the primary liaison for selected external partners and serve as the L1 escalation contact for CX regarding operational concerns, reporting directly to the Product team, and working onsite from Bengaluru.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end monitoring of user onboarding processes, including KYC and account activation, identifying and escalating any errors or user drop-offs to the product team.
- Oversee partner-related operations involving banking, payments, and settlements by tracking service level agreements (SLAs), resolving discrepancies and delays, and handling partner escalations and new integration initiatives.
- Supervise payment and transaction workflows by monitoring success and failure metrics, performing ledger reconciliations, and conducting root cause analyses for any increase in issues.
- Serve as the first-level operational support contact for CX inquiries across product lines, collaborating with product and CX teams to develop effective self-service or CX-led resolution pathways.
- Manage cross-product operational procedures that impact multiple platforms, such as account-detail modifications, ensuring consistent oversight from start to finish.
- Continuously identify repetitive manual operational tasks suitable for automation and proactively lead automation projects.
- Clearly articulate and scope product requirements when operational problems signify a need for product adjustments to support scalability.
Candidate Profile
- Possess 1-3 years of operations experience, ideally within fintech, brokerage, or payments-centric product sectors.
- Exhibit strong ownership by independently driving resolutions across various operational areas and managing processes comprehensively.
- Comfortable managing relationships with multiple external partners, escalating issues, and ensuring their resolutions.
- Proficient with Excel or Google Sheets for data tracking, reconciliation, and reporting, including handling transactional ledger data.
- Effective oral and written communication skills to draft partner-facing emails and summarize issues for internal teams.
- Able to discern when repeated operational problems require automation or product-level fixes and define these needs precisely for product teams.
Additional Desirable Skills
- Experience in KYC/onboarding compliance, cross-border payments or remittance, or investment operations.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn SQL and analytics tools for data extraction and reporting.
- Background in creating simple automations (such as scripts or workflow tools) to decrease manual workload.
- Highly detail-oriented with a logical, foundational problem-solving mindset.
