Shopee is building advanced technology to support millions of users every day, and the Shop Chatbot team is focused on creating tools that help sellers run their businesses more efficiently. The product is designed to automate customer conversations, respond to shopper questions, and improve the buying journey. It also functions as a flexible shop assistant that merchants can adapt to their specific needs, while offering engagement features that help buyers find suitable products and make better purchase decisions. The team is now growing to develop the next wave of intelligent commerce products.

In this position, you will shape and improve the Shop Chatbot using large language model technology to strengthen the e-commerce experience. You will lead project delivery, partner with data scientists to refine LLM algorithms, research new AI developments, and explore product opportunities that expand chatbot capabilities in online shopping. The role is centered on improving the pre-sales journey for buyers and creating smooth, useful interactions that support purchase decisions. It calls for a blend of technical depth, product thinking, and cross-functional coordination to drive meaningful AI impact.

What you'll do

  • Lead the full product lifecycle for Shop Chatbot enhancements, including idea generation, impact assessment, prioritization, solution design, development oversight, and post-launch performance tracking through data review and iterative improvements.
  • Study market trends and competitor offerings to spot gaps and opportunities, then translate those insights into stronger product positioning and well-informed proposals.
  • Set clear timelines, coordinate expectations, reduce delivery risks early, and keep product, engineering, design, product operations, and analytics teams aligned through steady communication.
  • Partner with data science and engineering teams on LLM-based recognition and response models, buyer targeting, predictive analytics, recommendation engines, and search improvements that make the chatbot more effective.
  • Work with commercial and business stakeholders to build features that support business objectives, help teams understand the product's value, and define strategic priorities together.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from a well-regarded institution is required, ideally in Computer Science or another quantitative/applied discipline; equivalent experience may also be considered.
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving ability are essential.
  • You should be able to explain complex technical and business ideas clearly, both in speech and in writing, to different audiences.
  • A proactive mindset, positive approach, and strong teamwork orientation are important.
  • Hands-on experience using data science or machine learning to address business problems is required.
  • Product management exposure or knowledge in chatbot systems, recommendation engines, audience segmentation and targeting, e-commerce risk control, or user experience improvement is a plus.
