Job description

Role Overview

This opportunity is with a rapidly expanding global energy technology business seeking a Product Manager focused on research and insights. Based in Singapore, the position supports an international product organisation and sits at the intersection of market intelligence, user research, and product strategy. The work is centered on informing next-generation energy and digital platform offerings through evidence-based decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and keep up-to-date structured frameworks for monitoring competitors.
  • Follow competitor offerings, product enhancements, and go-to-market moves.
  • Surface insights on market positioning, growth opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Study global energy storage developments, regulatory shifts, and new technologies.
  • Review regional market behaviour and differences in customer demand.
  • Turn trend analysis into practical input for roadmap planning.
  • Collect and interpret feedback from users and stakeholders across markets.
  • Identify recurring issues faced by end users, installers, and operators.
  • Convert research findings into improvements in product and user experience.
  • Track energy storage rules, standards, and compliance expectations across regions.
  • Assess how regulatory updates may affect product design and development.
  • Assist with product planning that accounts for compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with product teams to support research-based decisions.
  • Contribute to PRDs and planning conversations with structured input.
  • Deliver well-supported recommendations grounded in data and analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Energy, Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a similar discipline.
  • At least 3 years of experience in product management, market research, or strategy-related roles.
  • Proven ability to carry out independent research and distill findings clearly.
  • Good understanding of product development workflows and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Strong analytical capability with a talent for interpreting data and forming insights.
  • Ability to translate research outcomes into practical product direction.
  • Prior exposure to energy storage, renewable energy, or IoT is preferred.
  • Comfortable learning technical and commercial contexts quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with concise reporting and presentations.
  • Able to separate confirmed facts, assumptions, and recommendations in outputs.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable collaborating across time zones.
  • Shows ownership of research areas and end-to-end deliverables.

Preferred Background

  • Experience in energy storage, solar PV, EV charging, or energy management.
  • Background in consulting, market intelligence, or analyst-type work.
  • Exposure to B2B or SaaS products.
  • Experience working with international stakeholders.
