Role Overview

As Product Manager for Mutual Funds at Sipse by Jar, you will take full ownership of the end-to-end investing journey for users who are often new to financial products. The audience includes first-time investors in tier 2 and tier 3 India, such as salaried professionals, self-employed people, and skilled tradespeople who have typically been under-served by mainstream investing platforms. Your work will shape mutual fund discovery, onboarding, SIP creation, portfolio management, and redemption experiences. The role calls for extreme simplicity because these users are trust-led and quick to abandon confusing flows; each product decision can either strengthen or weaken confidence in investing. You will collaborate with design, engineering, growth, and compliance to build experiences that improve investor activation, retention, and assets under management while remaining aligned with SEBI and AMFI requirements. The role has high ownership and visibility, and success is measured by first-time investing and repeat investing behaviour at scale.

Responsibilities

• Set the product direction and maintain a clear roadmap for mutual fund offerings.
• Use research, user feedback, and data to uncover investor needs, motivations, and friction points.
• Partner with engineering, design, analytics, growth, operations, and business teams to launch new products and enhancements.
• Lead the product lifecycle from concept through delivery and launch, ensuring value for users and the business.
• Track product performance, investor behaviour, and core business metrics to inform decisions with data.
• Keep pace with developments in mutual funds, investing, and fintech so the product remains relevant and user-friendly.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of product management experience in fintech, wealth-tech, consumer tech, or a similar domain.
• Working knowledge of mutual funds, investing, personal finance, or wealth management products.
• Strong interest in understanding investor behaviour and turning insights into effective product experiences.
• Comfort using data and metrics to evaluate outcomes and guide decisions.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to turn complex investment ideas into simple, intuitive user journeys.
• Adaptability and comfort in a fast-moving startup environment.
• Preferred: experience building investment, wealth management, or mutual fund products.
• Preferred: prior exposure to mentoring or guiding a team.
