Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site position in New Zealand for a Product Manager focused on Motors and Gearboxes. The role is responsible for managing the full product lifecycle for this portfolio, working closely with research and development, supply chain, and sales teams, and tracking market movements to improve the product offering. The position also involves shaping product strategy, maintaining supplier relationships, preparing product marketing content, and making sure the portfolio stays aligned with customer requirements. In addition, the Product Manager will assist the sales team with technical expertise and respond to customer questions to support a strong customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and coordinate the end-to-end lifecycle of the motors and gearboxes product range.
- Work in partnership with R&D and supply chain functions to improve product decisions and availability.
- Monitor market developments and customer demand to spot opportunities and refine the portfolio.
- Build and execute product strategies that support growth and commercial goals.
- Manage relationships with suppliers and contribute to effective vendor collaboration.
- Develop clear product marketing collateral and technical sales support materials.
- Support the sales team with product knowledge and technical guidance.
- Address customer enquiries and help ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Required Profile
The ideal candidate brings experience in product lifecycle ownership, supplier coordination, and work within manufacturing or engineering environments. A solid technical understanding of motors, gearboxes, and similar industrial equipment is important. The role also calls for the ability to analyse markets, define product direction, and identify new business opportunities. Candidates should be comfortable supporting sales with technical input and creating product-facing marketing material. Strong organisation, the ability to juggle multiple priorities, and excellent spoken and written communication are essential. A background in mechanical or electrical engineering, either through qualification or practical experience, is relevant. Familiarity with WEG products and supply chain management would be an added advantage.
