Product Manager (Mortgages)

Role Overview

An international lending business is looking for a seasoned Product Manager to take ownership of its mortgage product range. The position focuses on shaping product direction, keeping offerings compliant, tracking market movement, and building mortgage solutions that are commercially strong and customer-focused.

You will partner with Risk, Compliance, Credit, Operations, Marketing, and Sales across the product lifecycle to deliver modern mortgage products. The role follows a hybrid setup with two days per week required on site and comes with strong benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and implement the mortgage product roadmap so it supports wider business goals.
• Oversee each stage of the product journey, from early concept and design through launch, improvement, and eventual retirement.
• Track market shifts, competitor products, and customer input to spot opportunities for innovation.
• Review product results, margin performance, and customer outcomes, then recommend improvements.
• Work with underwriting, credit risk, and operations teams to keep products viable commercially and efficient operationally.
• Prepare business cases for new products and product upgrades.
• Set pricing, product attributes, eligibility rules, and lending propositions.
• Make sure all mortgage products meet regulatory and consumer protection obligations.
• Contribute to digital mortgage journey enhancements and better customer experiences.
• Measure performance against KPIs and communicate product outcomes.

Experience Required

• At least 3 years of experience in mortgage product management or mortgage proposition development in retail banking, specialist lending, or building societies.
• Deep understanding of mortgage products.
• Background in managing financial products through the complete product lifecycle.
• Working knowledge of mortgage lending processes and underwriting fundamentals.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional delivery teams.
• Strong commercial judgement and analytical capability.
• Ability to build business cases and present them to senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success in delivering product improvements and strategic initiatives.

Additional Information
