Job description

About Oula Health

Oula Health is a venture-backed company focused on midwifery-led maternity and gynecological care, partnering exclusively with major health systems like Mount Sinai, Stamford Health, and Novant Health to embed collaborative OB-GYN and midwifery models within their networks. Founded in 2021, Oula currently operates 4 clinics in the tri-state area and plans to open three additional clinics in 2026, employing approximately 100 team members at the Series B funding stage.

Role Overview

Oula is seeking a technically proficient Product Manager to oversee and develop its core technology infrastructure, which integrates directly with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems rather than operating independently. This role involves close involvement with EHR configuration, clinical systems management, patient portals, and care management platforms, requiring a unique blend of product, operations, and health system integration expertise. The Product Manager will serve as the lead subject matter expert for health system EHR integrations and maintain smooth operation of the technology stack.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations and configuration of core systems such as EHR, patient portals, and care management tools.
  • Oversee end-to-end configuration of Athena and Epic systems, including clinical templates, order sets, lab setups, payer connection, and access controls for clinical and operational staff.
  • Lead efforts for EHR integration, handling data exchange protocols like FHIR/HL7, coordinating with health system IT teams, and ensuring adherence to go-live schedules.
  • Accelerate Epic integration timelines during onboarding of new health system partners.
  • Maintain system configuration integrity amid new market launches and evolving care workflows.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on infrastructure while directly managing the clinical systems layer.
  • Standardize bug reporting intake, prioritization, and resolution processes, and communicate engineering status updates.
  • Develop launch toolkits and training resources to prepare clinic teams for new feature releases.
  • Manage cross-functional product and operations launches.
  • Explore opportunities to incorporate AI and automation to streamline administrative tasks in product operations.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for clinical systems to ensure repeatable market setups.
  • Develop onboarding materials for clinic managers and staff on EHR workflows and tools.
  • Drive feature parity to ensure consistent patient and clinician experiences across different markets.
  • Build dashboards to monitor feature adoption, issue resolution, and rollout effectiveness across clinics.
  • Produce quarterly reports for product leadership and health system partners on platform performance.
  • Ensure infrastructure supports measurement of impact for every feature rollout.

Qualifications

  • Over three years experience in product operations, technical program management, or closely related roles, preferably within growth-stage digital health or service companies.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and curiosity to understand and improve systems.
  • Comfortable handling ambiguity with a proactive approach to creating processes and playbooks.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive deadlines, ideally with experience interacting directly with clients or health systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, writing actionable bug tickets, comprehensive SOPs, and clear launch plans.
  • Hands-on experience with EHR configuration and integration is strongly favored.
  • Analytical mindset sufficient to construct dashboards and identify patterns even without expert SQL skills.

Success Milestones

Within the first 90 days, you will evaluate current Athena configurations, identify shortcomings and propose remediation plans, improve the bug triage process, and establish relationships with health system partners for upcoming Epic integrations. By six months, you will have developed repeatable systems and product checklists for new market launches, improved bug resolution timelines, and enhanced communication with clinic teams. Within one year, you will have built a comprehensive SOP library, stabilized and documented clinical systems configurations, and successfully navigated at least one new health system EHR integration, becoming an indispensable partner for the product and operations teams.

Compensation and Benefits

The role offers a salary range of $110,000 to $140,000 annually depending on location and experience, along with equity options commensurate with level. The work is primarily remote-flexible with occasional travel to clinics and health system locations. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off.

Work Location

Preference is given to candidates based in New York/New Jersey/Connecticut, Chicago, or Charlotte.

Inclusion and Diversity

Oula is dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace that values diverse contributions from people of all backgrounds. They particularly encourage applications from underrepresented communities including women, people of color, LGBTQ individuals, veterans, and persons with disabilities.
