Role Overview
The Product Development Assistant for Ready-to-Wear (RTW) plays a key supportive role in managing and executing the complete product development cycle within the ready-to-wear segment.
Key Duties
- Support daily tasks related to collection development activities.
- Consolidate supply requirements and organize shipments headed to factories with careful tracking.
- Manage packaging logistics throughout all phases of collection development.
- Coordinate preparation for fittings and normalization meetings assisting the product developer.
- Schedule and facilitate meetings, keeping materials well-organized and comprehensible.
- Assist with detail review meetings and preparation of production Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Maintain orderly filing and archival of garments and vendor swatches.
- Accurately enter and continuously update product data in AirTable during the collection process.
- Communicate with vendors to monitor shipment status and ensure timely deliveries.
- Contribute to assessing the technical feasibility of products and help generate ideas to translate design concepts into tangible products.
- Manage samples and stock effectively.
- Handle purchase order management for prototypes, samples, and extra stock; organizing invoices accordingly.
- Track and report expenditures related to product development, prototypes, and samples against budgets.
- Update collection boards and books regularly.
- Provide administrative support to the Product Development team as necessary.
Qualifications and Skills
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in product development.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to handle large volumes of data entry accurately under time constraints.
- Strong commercial awareness concerning product costing and budget tracking.
- Effective communication skills for clear and concise dissemination of information within the team.
- Deep interest and knowledge in fashion, including trends, the luxury market, and consumer behaviors.
- Proactive mindset, adaptable to changes and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Fluent English; additional languages are advantageous.
- Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
- Technical understanding of RTW construction, leather, materials, and product performance is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with AirTable or similar platforms for product data management and project tracking.
