Role Overview

We are seeking a Product Designer to join our team in San Francisco or New York City. Working onsite primarily on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, you will design intuitive, timeless software reminiscent of classic craftsmanship and playful innovation. The position involves end-to-end project ownership, from ideation through pixel-perfect execution, partnering closely with engineering and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop product concepts balancing vision, quality, speed, and business goals.
• Handle detailed design execution of new features from conception to launch.
• Lead projects collaboratively with engineers to deliver your vision.
• Work alongside Customer Experience, Sales, and Customer Success teams to incorporate diverse user insights into product planning and roadmap prioritization.
• Collaborate with Marketing to craft compelling user stories across channels including product, website, and help documentation.
• Innovate and refine intuitive design patterns while thoughtfully scaling the design system.

Required Qualifications

• At least five years of professional experience running design projects independently from start to finish.
• Strong user empathy and ability to advocate for compelling user experiences solving real problems.
• Skill in clarifying abstract concepts into simple, accessible mental models and workflows.
• Proven ability to create clear, visually attractive, and user-friendly interfaces.
• Balanced mindset valuing business practicality alongside craftsmanship and design speed.
• Excellent collaboration skills with openness to input and feedback across stakeholders.
• Proficiency in storytelling using both visual and verbal communication to drive alignment.
• Experience working collaboratively with product management, engineering, research, and data teams as well as fellow designers.

• Passion for addressing fragmented tools and information silos.
• Familiarity with influential computing pioneers like Douglas Engelbart, Alan Kay, and Bret Victor.
• Ability to write code in addition to design skills.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits tailored by role scope, location, and experience. For the San Francisco location, the estimated annual base salary ranges between 285000 and 330000 USD.
