About the Team

The Product Design function includes multiple groups responsible for defining and delivering every user-facing part of Stripe’s products. Product Designers work as strategic partners alongside Engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Marketers across product areas. Together, they shape experiences, turn them into polished designs, and refine them through testing and iteration. The team focuses on building practical, elegant products that people enjoy using and recommending.

This hiring effort covers a range of Product Designer roles across teams such as Connect, Dashboard, Growth, and other areas. Final-stage matching will help place candidates with a subteam, and Stripe may also consider candidates for other organizations depending on experience, location, and interests.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will partner closely with a specific part of the business and take ownership of end-to-end design work. You will collaborate with other designers to maintain a very high standard of craft and overall experience quality. The position blends product strategy, development of new and existing features, and research into the needs of different user groups so you can help design solutions that enable more businesses to start and operate successfully on Stripe.

Responsibilities

• Create user-focused, high-quality designs that improve key product surfaces and strengthen the overall experience.
• Develop, prototype, and test intuitive solutions that simplify complex journeys.
• Work with designers, product managers, and engineers to shape both long-term direction and immediate execution.
• Produce polished interfaces that reflect Stripe’s design standards.
• Present work regularly in design critiques and contribute to a constructive, iterative feedback culture.
• Partner with UX Research to guide and validate design choices.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant product design experience.
• A portfolio showing solid design fundamentals and refined UI craftsmanship.
• Experience working closely with cross-functional partners to influence product direction.
• Ability to weigh user needs, business objectives, and multiple stakeholder perspectives.
• Strong communication skills for explaining design decisions and reasoning across functions.
• Experience contributing across product areas while solving ambiguous and complex problems.
• Demonstrated ability to influence teams and shape product direction.
• Comfort presenting to senior leadership with a clear, persuasive narrative.

Hybrid Work Model

This position can be based either in an office or in a remote location that is at least 35 miles (56+ km) away from a Stripe office. Office-based employees are expected to spend at least 50% of each month in their local office or with users. Remote employees are expected to primarily work from home, though occasional office visits for meetings, on-sites, meetups, and events are welcome. Stripe does not pay relocation costs for moves to a remote location, and candidates are encouraged to apply for roles aligned with where they currently live or plan to live.

Pay and Benefits

The annual base salary range in the United States for this position is $175,200 to $262,800. For candidates outside the US, the salary range for the relevant location may be shared during the interview process. The final range may vary based on level, experience, qualifications, and location.

Additional compensation and benefits may include equity, company bonus or sales commission/bonus, a 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and wellness stipends.

Stripe may evaluate candidates for different organizational areas depending on their background, location, and interests. The stated salary range may cover several career levels and will be narrowed during the hiring process. This role is intended for either office-based or remote work under Stripe’s hybrid setup.
